Die Verwendung dieser Begriffe erfolgt hier unter der vorausgesetzten Annahme, dass diese keine starren, limitierenden Einheiten sind, sondern verschiedene Stadien in der Entwicklung einer Sprache. Jedwede Wertung oder Qualifizierung einer Sprache durch die Einteilung in Pidgin oder Kreol schließt sich demnach aus. Das Nubi bezeichne ich, diversen Autoren folgend, als Kreol, da es eine stabile Gruppe von Muttersprachlern gibt. Dies entspricht besonders Owens, der betont, dass die Unterschiede zwischen dem klassischen Arabisch, den modernen Varianten des Arabisch und den Kreolformen des Arabischen zu groß sind, um als verschiedene Stadien einer einzigen Sprache betrachtet zu werden.
Zunächst stelle ich kurz die Sprache vor, ehe ich mich intensiv der Geschichte dieser „Kreolsprache“ widme. Auch die unterschiedlichen Erklärungen zur Herleitung des Namen Nubi/ Kinubi werden hier mit einbezogen. An dieser Stelle bot es sich auch an, einige der Theorien über die Entstehung der Sprache und ihre Wurzeln einzubinden.
Dem Abriss der Geschichte wird dann eine direkte Gegenüberstellung der Strukturen des Nubi mit einzelnen Aspekten der Theorie Bickertons folgen.
Anschließend stelle ich meine Schlussfolgerungen aus der Geschichte des Nubi und dem Vergleich seiner Strukturen mit Derek Bickertons Thesen zum Sprachbioprogramm vor. Auf den vorherigen Erkenntnissen basierend folgt hier das Fazit zur Frage, ob sich das Nubi in Bickertons Theorie einbinden lässt.
Dabei widme ich mich auch der heutigen state of affairs der Sprache und der Sprecher eingehend. Die verschiedenen Annahmen zur zukünftigen Entwicklung des Nubi finden hier ebenfalls Raum.
